Battlefield Updates You Need To Know

Reports emerged that Update 5.2.0 has rolled out and this includes a wide range of balance changes, fixes, and different areas of improvement. These updates cover areas of feedback that have been looked into for action. Below is the overview of what has changed:

  • Vault Weapons: All-Out Battle attachments for SMGs, LMGs, and Sidearms.
  • Map Rework: Hourglass
  • Squad Management: Squad Orders, Lock/Remove functionality Ammo Crate improvements Dispersion changes to SMGs and LMGs

 

HourGlass: Launch maps have been reworked, and the overall glass size has been reduced to keep combat-focused while having increased opportunities to defend yourself through added cover along basic routes where actions can be found. You’ll notice that remnants of combat will take place over time and throughout the map alongside increased military presence and shielded positions

Work is ongoing to roll out the last sets of All-Out Warfare attachments to SMGs, LMGs, and Sidearm Vault Weapons to see to it that their gameplay and versatility equals their All-Out Warfare counterparts.

New Dawn also made the first iteration of Squad Management Alongside Season 5 with improvements available.

Squad Orders have also been included in the update. To complete objectives, you need to work together with your squad to earn an additional XP (Squad Order Bonus).

Village: The quiet Village area at A1 has now been heavily fortified, and is the new starting location for breakthrough matches.

This Arches at Flag B1 have now received a complete overhauling in this new war zone. The bridge has collapsed, creating a crater in this new combat-intense area. Also, a new underground section has been added to keep you secure even as you get set for assault.

Combat can also be taken to the new underground section below Al Wadha Arches to find momentary relief from ongoing battles.

Bridge

You’ll notice the once pristine skyscrapers are engulfed in flames as you make your way from the Arches toward the downtown area. Heavy combat has also been claimed by the underpass and it’s littered with destroyed vehicles. You should expect heavy resistance from the enemy as you face them in close-quarters combat.

Security Checkpoint

You can now fight your way downtown across the main road with new fortified military positions. This area has been fortified to make it ripe for vehicle gameplay. The areas leading further into the downtown area have also received new areas of cover. This will help you during the assault.

Changelog

Audio

An issue has been fixed. This has to do with sliding sound playing endlessly if a player is killed while sliding. Also, an audio issue that resulted in no impact sound when hit by certain weapons while inside an air vehicle has been fixed.

Battlefield Portal

An issue that resulted in long names for Custom experiences not properly being framed during the loading screen has been fixed. The Teleport Block for MCOMs will now correctly function on Flashpoint. Also, an issue that caused the BC2 Armored Transport vehicles to have the wrong icon has been fixed.

Maps (Exposure)

An issue that allowed Sundance to fly outside of the play area has been fixed.

Reclaimed

Available within the Battlefield Portal is the Custom Conquest.

Specialists and Gadgets

Players are no longer blocked from interacting with dropped weapons and deployed gadgets. An issue that caused the Hazard Zone call-in tablet to auto-cancel the first call-in has been fixed. Also, post-explosion smoke VFX that does not appear for players who were not facing the explosion at the point it went off has been fixed.

Weapons

Fire Mode Indicator is now only visible for Marksman Rifles when under barrels are equipped and active. An issue that made recoil control when firing at a Dozer shield does not replicate properly sometimes has been fixed.
An issue that caused the player to move slower than intended when aiming with the XCE Bar and BSV-M has been fixed. Numerous Laser Sight VFX alignment issues on weapons have been fixed.

Dispersion Tweaks

SMGs and LMGs have now also received tweaks to their dispersion rates, alongside general dispersion improvements across weaponry:
SMGs presently have a higher starting dispersion, but their highest dispersion and rate at which it is reached are comparable to assault rifles. The rate at which dispersion increases, and the minimum dispersion while moving has been increased for LMGs.
An issue that was stopping dispersion penalties from being applied correctly while moving has been fixed.
